C O L O R...... R A Y..... S A X O P H O N E

The COLOR RAY SAXOPHONE is an idea by Michael Fischer, realized by Christoph Freidhöfer and Michael Fischer in 2022/2023

The sound and light textures are generated on a purely analog basis and set in dialog with the resonances and reflections of the performance space.

The light application, located inside the saxophone, is triggered by audio signals from the feedback-saxophone, adjusted by a specially designed control unit.

The signal-flow for the light-application is: feedback-saxophone -> 31band-EQ-fine-tuning -> conrol unit -> LEDs

The analog, no-effect feedback-saxophone uses a simple microphone inside the saxophone tube and two amplifiers that allow the feedback texture to be modulated.
Special techniques for this instrument have been and are being developed by MF since 1999.
